They only support A2DP compressed Bluetooth audio. They don't support APTX. Believe me there is a huge difference in music quality. At this price too... It's embarrassing. Do not buy these if you care about music.

GalAngelHaving had the Original BlueBird X, I can recommend Plantronics BackBeat Fit. Get some JBL endurance enhancer tips and they will sound even better (http://www.jbl.com/YBENHBK7.html?adpos=1o1&creative=61791281455&device=c&matchtype=&network=g&gclid=CIHV6JKjmMgCFYVAaQod4uEM-w).
The JLab Epic Bluetooth headphones are my second choice. They have the best sound quality I've heard in BT headphones, but their BT connectivity is sub-par and the mic not very good. They sound very good and very comfortable though.

batarasThey use their own proprietary codec and I have yet to come across a review that has made an issue of it. Not to mention, anyone wanting to use these with an iPhone will have no use for APT-X

batarasI am all about sound quality. But when it comes to working out, I am not looking for pitch perfect sound. That wouldn't even be a realistic expectation. I'm sure that's the reason for this design.

batarasI'm not sure what you mean by this. A2DP is the data profile used for audio that supports multiple codecs. aptX is one of those codecs (others are AAC, MP3, etc) but it still uses A2DP. These might not support aptX, but saying that because they only do A2DP, and that it's a bad thing, is misleading since aptX uses A2DP. Also aptX is compressed audio so I'm not really sure what your point there is. These use a customized SBC codec (according to the manual) so the quality may be on par with aptX.
From what I hear, these sound great for bluetooth earbuds. I haven't listened to one in person yet, but I'm in for one.
