This think sucks, it regulates down to about 50% brightness if left on max for more than a couple of seconds and won't go any brighter until you cycle it off and on again. New battery or not, it behaves the same. JETBeam support is non existent, my emails went unanswered.

teh_niemerOk, so AA. that's about 1.5V. 14500 batteries offer 3.7V in the same package size, this flashlight can recognize what type of battery is in it, and adjusts the output to match.
Edit: Eneloops are NI-MH right? That type of battery is good at being long lasting but not for high output. this may be why the flashlight is recognizing a power drop and limiting its output.
