Hi folks, We are really excited to bring you our first offering from Knifemaker Joseph Bowen from Texas!
Joseph was visiting TAD Gear and supporting the Dogpatch Warehouse Sale here in San Francisco last weekend. We were lucky enough to get him to put a few pieces aside for us in advance of the event so we could bring them to the Massdrop community. The first piece we are launching is Joseph’s ever popular Micro Hatchet. A handy little neck knife or pocket carry piece.

Joseph started using Carpenter PSF 27 Stainless Steel with this batch. He calls it a super version of D2 Tool Steel (D2 has been popular for a long while with makers as tool steel tends to be tough by nature and able to hold an edge longer than other steels. PSF 27 has an enhanced D2 chemical composition giving it higher toughness, greater chipping resistance and higher wear resistance than D2.)
