I find the wrenches unnecessary for this drop. Might as well buy a full socket set for more uses.

A Craftsman version of that oil filter wrench is $12. I have that same drain pan. It's made by Capri Tools (though there are others that looks quite similar). Runs about $20. That leaves $17 for the wrenches and the "moldable" funnel, which doesn't seem too bad.
Here's the thing, though: I've never used box wrenches while changing oil. In fact, if that oil filter wrench is anything like mine (and it certainly seems to be), it needs a 3/8 ratchet, which is all I ever use while changing oil, anyway. This kit would have been better off with a ratchet, six-inch extension, and a metric socket set.
I'm sure that would be more expensive than the box wrenches provided, but I don't see those wrenches getting much use for the intended purpose. Now, if you actually have another use for the wrenches, it might not be a bad value. But you're going to need to supply your own socket set anyway just to use this kit as intended.

I mean, hopefully, you're right about that. It does seem to have a hex shaped outer area where the square drive is. I know on my particular car, there's no way to reach the oil filter comfortably without an extension, so ratchet still works best for me.

NotwerkI can certainly see needing an extension to reach but also let's face it... If you do the oil change properly, more times than not you can remove with your hand.

I disagree. As a mechanic i paid $30 for the oil filter wrench alone from matco (or whatever brand he was selling on that truck) and this one provides the fitting for 3/8, 1/2 and box wrench. From the best i can tell from the measurments of the funnel, its a decent amount bigger than the ones i have seen and personally have in my vehicle (which i paid $10 for). The items listed above at the listed price i feel is a stretch to say awful value.

This seems like awful value.
