What's so "smart" about this product?

12v input... Now it is interesting. That means that I could install it on my car, and could charge 2 phones and two tablets at relatively high speed.

Listing input voltage is too mainstream?

Canadian shipping rates just kill this deal.

jmillerEven US shipping is 8.48, making this nearly 40 dollars. Not worth it even in the states.

deskjockeyExactly. These are $40 with prime shipping on Amazon right now, so this isn't really a great deal.

Disappointing amperage considering the 5-port Anker charger ($26 with amazon prime) doesn't have any ports with dedicated amp outputs, and just spreads 8 amps over the 5 ports however you choose, with up to 2.4 amps per port. So... you could have 3 devices charging at 2.4 amps simultaneously. Even for a phone, 1A sucks.

same here, I got two from Amazon a while back. With the shipping added, its really NOT worth it for those in Canada to go for it. :(

WoogityI have a 2.1a and 1a dual port charger in my car, and while YMMV, I've found that several phones refuse to charge on the 2.1a port. Possibly this is the reason for dedicated 1a ports?
