I love these thread racks, I have one and have screwed it up on my wall.
I have to say though that I was disappointed that there wasn't an option to purchase just the thread rack alone - like others, I need more than 1 - I don't need any thread with it, especially poly. I can understand why you are bundling given the size of the racks and shipping costs. I find that with a lot of the drops here for notions - I would be on board for the primary notion being offered but not the little add ons.
I was so excited to see this rack being dropped, too. 😕

I'd buy the rack, but I have no use for polyester thread. For my charity group, everything in our quilts has to be 100% cotton. Also, I would need to buy 2 racks and I don't need 24 more spools of thread. Clearly, I already have a thread surplus problem if I am buying the mega thread rack.

Hi @Libby and @Shells793,
Thanks for letting us know that you prefer cotton thread over polyester, and we always appreciate your honest feedback. I am working hard to source quality quilting products that you want for our community.
I have added an additional option for a MasterPiece Thread Collection (4-pack) for -$20. MasterPiece thread is made from 100% Egyptian-grown extra-long staple cotton and its 50 weight 3-ply construction in neutral colors is perfect for quilters.
Please continue to comment in discussions and create and vote on polls to let us know what quilting products you'd like us to drop next!
Thank you very much,
~ Rita

RitaNRita,
Thanks for changing the option. I appreciate you listening to our concerns. However, with the Masterpiece 4 pack bundle, this is really not a good deal. You can buy the thread rack off of Amazon with Prime shipping for ~$21.50.
With the thread, let's say you charged the "Try Me Special Rate" of $6.29/spool. The price for this bundle should not be more than $46.66. And that is not even a price I am willing to commit to buy at, since I don't need the thread and I need more than one rack.
I have Superior Thread (Masterpiece and King Tut) at home. I like it okay. However, it is lintier than Aurifil. I like that my seams lay flatter with Aurifil due to it being 2 ply. My issue is that, when comparing it with Aurifil, Superior's price per yard it is so much more expensive than Aurifil (even at MSRP). I personally, don't find the price in line with the quality of the thread. To judge for yourself take a look at Aurifil vs. Superior cotton under a microscope, http://owensolivia.blogspot.com/2012/10/your-sewing-thread-under-microscope.html. I think the pictures show that Aurifil has a much tighter weave.
I appreciate that you are offering Superior Threads as an alternative thread choice. I voted for it because I wanted to see an amazing price on this thread.
However, we are not seeing the same overall value with these drops as we did with the Aurifil drops. If the price was something closer to the value we received on the Aurifil drops (.004687 cents per yard), then I would buy. To say it another way, if we were paying the same amount per/yard of Superior thread as we did Aurifil, we would only be paying $2.34/spool. So that to equates to about 3x more money per yard of thread. My issue is that I have not found Superior thread to be 3x higher quality than Aurifil. I would gladly pay the higher premium if the quality was there.
I realize that we are never going to see a Superior drop with a price anywhere near $2.34/spool. I also understand that comparing 2 ply to 3 ply thread might be a bit unfair to Superior. But if I am going to buy Superior thread from MD, the discount should be more in line with the Aurifil drops (If I remember correctly, was 40% off MSRP).
