At the heart of the Bauhaus Movement is simplicity, geometry, and functionality. It’s with these guiding principles that Max Bill—a student of the movement himself—designed one of the most iconic Bauhaus timepieces of all time. Originally produced in 1957 by Germany-based Junghans, it’s now being re-released in a variety of styles that pay homage to the original. This one—a chronograph iteration—is fitted with J880.2 automatic movement and features two subdials: a 30-minute timer at 12 o’clock and a 12-hour timer at 6 o’clock. Two protruding pushers, one at 2 and the other at 4, allow the chronograph to be started, stopped, and reset. Appointed with slim hour markers and lumed pips, the dial is magnified by a domed crystal that lends the watch an added touch of Bauhaus style.
