Re USB Charging Rate: For all my chargers, I've started looking for the "Quick Charge 3" capability - including car chargers. QC is a Qualcomm standard with support somewhat tied to the SnapDragon CPU version IF THE MANUFACTURER ALLOWS IT -Eg: - SnapDragon 820 can support QC3 theoretically, but GS7 is only QC ver 2 right now IIRC, whereas LG G5 and HTC10 are QC v3 - SnapDragon 805 based Note 4/Edge & Note 5 with Exynos (based on SnapDragon?) support QC v2 - look it up for your phone and chipset. My newish phone is QC 2, but QC 3 is backwards compatible (so am buying QC 3 chargers assuming I can take advantage of it in the future) - if I'm on a long journey it's moot, but for short journeys a QC charger is invaluable for making sure the phone has juice - with regular chargers like the one on this drop I get the feeling that with GPS, calls, bluetooth and probably music on, the draw on the phone is almost as much as the charging rate - takes a LONG time for me to charge on regular chargers in the car.

Richy_Dingo2x 2.1A output – fast charging for phones and tablets 2.1A should make it a non issue I assume?

w00mSorry - just realised you asked this question - a month after. OK so your question is tricky to answer - just because it says it's 2x 2.1A that doesn't guarantee anything for me. Quick charge v2 (for my phone) or QC 3 negotiate fast charging. This car charger is just higher rate but not QC capable. I have no idea if in reality it would deduce and push enough juice to my Note Edge (power sucker) while it's navigating and playing BBC in the car. I wouldn't take the chance when you can get a perfectly decent QC 2 or better charger for cheap money off Amazon. QC2 in my case guarantees the best charging rate for my phone.
