The price is not that good...on Amazon is $71.92. Is a little disappointing. I was waiting for this knife for a while. :(
boby_xtThere are actually two options to this listing, the BK22 and the BK2. The 22 is a product update with a different sheath and is the main price for the listing. The BK2 (which you are price comparing this to) is actually $4 less expensive at checkout, which puts it under Amazon.

AndrewLekashmanConsidering the month long wait though, I'd still take Amazon over this.

AndrewLekashmanI see. Thank you for the clarification. It makes sense now.

boby_xtOn Amazon, the BK2 is $71.99. It is $68.99 here. The BK22 is $83.99 or $72.99 here. Massdrop is rarely significantly cheaper than Amazon, but it is typically cheaper, as is the case here.

JediMasterSo really the only reason to join this drop is for the BK22. But is the upgraded sheath the only difference?

HSLilAceYeah, the BK22 is really the one to spring for. Good price for it.
The only difference is the sheath. The BK22 is the one to get, IMO, as the glass filled nylon sheath of the BK2 is known to dull the edge as the knife is pulled in and out of it.
It's a design flaw that the BK22's sheath corrects (I don't know why they even still offer the BK2 glass filled nylon sheath). But the knife, itself, is the same.
This is a heavy, beefy knife. It gets heavy if you have to carry it on your belt for any time or distance. But it's great to have around as a camp knife.
I use mine for prepping my smokers for beekeeping. It's sharp enough to make feather sticks and kindling for starting the fire. But it's heavy enough to chop up chunks of 1" thick branches for the longer burn. This light chopping is something that an otherwise excellent lighter knife, like a Morakniv, has trouble with.
