LF1957Most prices the past few months can be found cheaper elsewhere. They need a better price negotiator on this site.

When I saw the price, I thought it seemed pretty average for this particular Becker model. Upon searching, I found it was a couple of bucks above the average one can get it for if they do a little shopping. Took me two site-searches before I found it for $77.99 with free shipping and you don't have to wait almost a month before it even ships.
If none of that matters to y'all, I'm here to tell you that the BK7 is not over-hyped in the description for this drop. It's not the "beast" that the BK9 or BK21 are, but it's a much better slicer than either of them, making it great for food prep, trap making, and lighter duty bush-craft tasks. Maybe saying it's well-suited for "hefty chops" is a bit over-hyped, but it will serve as a chopper for smaller diameter limbs and branches - it just has nowhere near the chopper potential as the BK9, BK21 or even the BK4. 1095 Cro-Van is not stainless steel, so if you plan to use this one in extremely wet and/or salty environments, you will have to pay close attention to keeping the blade oiled, but for anyone who doesn't already have at least one Becker knife, you can't go wrong with 'em. Every one of 'em is designed flawlessly by Ethan Becker, and manufactured, and most importantly, heat-treated, by the #1 knife forge in the US - KA-BAR. The head engineer and overseer of the heat-treat shop at KA-BAR is second to none.

Way to take someone's words out of context. Remember, only your opinion matters here. Good forbid someone else has an opinion. You must be related to Becker.

I can quibble all day, I actually like arguing my point, especially when old men pull out the "because I've been on the earth longer than you my opinion means more than anyone else's" BS.
