How does it handle the rain? I've seen some hats like this that are basically bomb proof and others that just get destroyed at a hint of moisture.

The Blackwell performs very well in the rain and it's built from buffalo leather that’s been lightly oiled so sheds water easily. An occasional coat of leather dressing or “Microwax” reproofing crème will maintain its waterproofness.
