Rugged and dependable, the Kammok Mountain Blanket is ideal for camping, hiking, picnicking, and more. Made from the same durable 40d ripstop nylon as the company’s Roo hammock, the blanket has a DWR coating that prevents water and moisture from seeping through Read More
Kammok - FYI provides outstanding customer service - although I have never had a problem w/any of their gear, I did receive a hand written thank you w/their last Kickstarter - when is the last time anyone had that happen ? BTW, used their quilt this past weekend in mid 30's weather and it is rated for 45...
I have scads of their products (hammock, straps, a joey, underquilt, stuff sacks and thats just off the top of my head) but not this particular blanket. Truth be told I'd opt for the quilt, simply due to its size and possible uses. but you shan't have any quality issues for certain...
This strikes me as expensive, but expensive is different from over-priced: at $110, it offers some great features and looks well-designed and cozy. Anyone who had dealt with packing up a damp fleece blanket after a truck camping trip will probably appreciate the DWR finishes. Kudos Kammok!
At $135 retail/$110 massdrop, I personally wish this Kammok was sewn in the US, or at least used a US-manufactured fleece like Polartec. That said, you'll pay a premium for US-made products that are similar (but not identical):
-Mambe outdoor blanket, $150
-Pendleton wool blanket $150
-the Kifaru Woobie, about $150
Heck yeah...I'll probably join this drop just to squish one in the back of the jeep to have it 'always on hand' - and would surely get in on the XL version! I hope people jump on this - as I'd like Kammok to continue to be successful. What's that old saying? Good products are never cheap, and cheap products are never good! And associating with massdrop (while may bring annoying comments to customer service through) does reach a wider audience. Thanks for the reply, and continued hope for rewarding success.
