I'm thinking about getting these for a friend for xmas. He just built hi son first PC and I still using an old amp and shitty speakers. He's a gamer and musician too, and hasn't been mixing on his crummy speakers. i know these aren't necessarily meant to be for mixing etc., but I want to get him something budget friendly that's a good all around unit. I watched the review video and the guy was fairly unimpressed when listening to playback at husband desktop, which is where my friend would primarily have them. Thoughts?

BrakeRewisI really like these, of course because it's a 3.5 in driver you wont get much sub base. But it has great mid and really detailed highs (maybe some sybolense). I have these and use it with a sub woofer and I am totally satisfied. As a tip, put these about 1.5 feet off of the wall Don't put them right against the wall.

SaucyPHi SaucyP - what subwoofer have you got and what's the crossover frequency setting (on the subwoofer)?
Thanks!

MandMIt's just a generic pioneer sub with no crossover option. Wish I could help more, you can contact kanto and inquire about frequency range on these.
