JoshHmm what if we want to connect this speaker to another DAC? only input seems to be usb to act as dac and 3.5mm input (I guess I can use RCA to 3.5mm cable but wouldn't that lower sound quality?).

You really shouldn't have a problem here with sound quality when using a splitter. You are essentially just merging the L/R channel into one audio signal. Just make sure you are using a good quality 3.5mm and/or RCA splitter. The 3.5mm AUX cable we include with the speaker should suffice. We have tested this setup with our own Link RCA splitters and experienced zero loss in quality when using an external DAC.

kkjjn0000using a RCA > 3.5mm cable has zero effect on sound quality and does not affect the audio signal (it does not "merge the L/R channel into one audio signal", the signal remains 2ch stereo, just different connector). in fact one could argue that a 3.5mm TRS cable is better than a plane jane RCA because its a balanced cable (like XLR). hope that helps!

pizzamuncher88Erm, a 3.5mm TRS cable in standard configuration (tip->left, ring->right, sleeve->common ground) is not a balanced connection. You get a stereo signal, but it's not a differential connection. TRS cables ARE used for balanced connections, but it's significantly different (tip->differential+, ring->differential-, sleeve->shield). This requires two TRS plugs for stereo, as well as changes to the input and output devices, because each balanced TRS plug carries a single channel.
That being said, I agree with you about it having no noticeable effect. Using a cable with a pair of RCA plugs on one end (for some other DAC) and a standard 3.5mm TRS plug on the other end (for input to the speakers) isn't going to magically introduce noise. :)

Do these come with any cables, adaptors, and/or accessories other than the power cord?
Also, I noticed the USB input in the back, which would lead me to believe that these must have a DAC. Is this indeed the case? If so, do you have any specs on how it compares with those found in, say, portable headphone amps?
