Thank you it started again, thank you
How much was this when it dropped? Did a lot of users find the auto standby feature a great annoyance?
FaceMcBashy
i find it very annoying as it turns off only when streaming media on a website. i have reached out to Kanto to take these back and get me a set without or I will return them and get some yamaha or edifier studio speakers
Did anyone who bought these bluetooth Kantos buy the Simple Audio Listen speakers originally? If so, I'm curious how the Kantos compare (favorably to the SALs, I hope).

We will keep the group updated throughout the fulfillment process. You can expect an update from us by the end of the day Pacific Time on 10/3.

Is there a europe version available? I want to purchase this, but the wall plug looks like a problem.
Final10
@Final10 The YU3's have a switching power supply that can accept 110V-240V at 50Hz or 60Hz, as long as you buy the correct figure-8 power cable you'll be good to go.
Sooo. These are more expensive M-Audio's?
Chester5040
Our speakers have Bluetooth, optical inputs, sub-out, USB charging and a remote so they're a bit more feature rich.
WHY ONLY IN BLACK???? what a waste
Do the speakers ship from Canada? I don't want to pay duty if they are shipped from the US.
Funazushi
If you're in Canada we'll be shipping the speakers directly to you so you can avoid duty.
These are great speakers. Own a pair myself. Great for a bedroom. The AptX technology bluetooth is more marketing than anything (not Kanto's fault). AptX has to be on BOTH sides, so even if Kanto has it, your computer or other device has to have it too (PC though is an easy fix since AptX dongles can be purchased for USB port). AptX is a great technology, in theory ,to bring the audio to a higher level than usual for bluetooth, but AptX to this day isn't still really highly adopted --even by "enthusiast" products (though I believe newer top shelf Android devices are starting to carry it). So just be aware of this. This aside, the speakers ROCK and you'd be hard pressed to find a great sounding speaker with so many connectivity options. I use mine connected via optical cable straight into the Apple router's optical port for iPad Airplay (this gives higher sound quality for streaming than bluetooth). I also use the basic bluetooth to connect to my LG G3 phone as well and it sounds just fine. Also remember that basic bluetooth has some lag (that AptX doesn't), so if you're streaming Netflix you'll see lips mismatch to the audio coming out. Always try to plug a wire straight in or go the Apple Router way for top wireless sound and no lag. The tiny router costs about $100 (it's all I use it for in slave/repeater mode).
Just so wish this shipped internationally.
Would these work well to expand an existing 2.1 system?
As noted by at least 1 other, the "features" would end up being large drawbacks to me, whether they were connected as a home theater option or a desktop option. I was excited to jump in with Kanto as some of the other products were outside my price range for what I was looking for but these appear to not fit in well with my usage.
If you're looking for a sub to go with your new YU3 we've dropped the ported YURI as well!

Thank You! i'll take that into consideration when I look at how much i want to be spending!
If you live in a dorm room, it's a BAD idea to have a sub. The RA on the floor will shut you down immediately. Waste of money. If you want to rock out, use headphones. The YU3 is only meant for moderate/low volumes in a dorm setting or else you'll get in trouble. Now, if you live in a Frat, that's a different story!
Is shipping to Germany not available for this drop? :(
I own the YU5's and SUB8 which I use on my TV setup and love, even though the auto shutoff is frustrating they look great and sound very good for their price, on remote equalizer is super convenient and for a sound system with no receiver it's an absolute masterpiece, especially for budget home theater setups.
For desktop PC speakers: if you need or want bluetooth connectivity or an on board DAC these are good but if sound quality is the deciding factor, shell out a little extra and get Emotiva 4s speakers, or PreSonus E4.5 for a little cheaper than these but the Emotivas blew me away for near field listening. Plus, in my opinion, desktop speakers should be always on. Leave the mute functionality and EQ to the OS. I feel the feature set of Kanto speakers (On board DAC, EQ, remote, bluetooth) are best tailored for TV setups rather than to a PC, unless they're something you specifically want.

The Emotivas are good but much more expensive and have less connectivity options and no remote or EQ on it. Emotivas has a ribbon tweeter which is more directional so one has to be face forward on them or you'll lose that "tweeter juice". The Presonus have good sound but emit noise when nothing is playing that they've never corrected on the products, and that is a deal killer for the the picky (they also have terrible Customer Service compared to Kantos). Horses for courses...I think the Kanto is good as a PC or bedroom speaker system which is how I use them. The selling point for me was all the connectivity options, as I'm a power user and like to use more than one device with it--I treat it like a receiver--keeps the bedroom cleaner for the wife. ;)
I just wanted to share my review with the community.

tl;dr Don't buy these. To many bugs and/or incomplete features.

I am not buying this then and why would I? I don't get it. If you have to adjust it at all, you should have made the next one with the ability to turn it off to appease people who didn't want that feature what so ever. Why would I risk running into the same problem again? Just because you say it's been adjusted doesn't mean it fixes the issue. If you are so confident with your product, as I have created the most comprehensively critical review, you should send me a pair of them for free with the presumption that if you really did make a good product that I would make another review that gave the in and outs of the speakers. Because the people whom you sent the YU3's to are crap reviewers and just say box specs. You need to send them to people who will actually use them and will put you on blast or sing your praises if you made a good product. If you made a good product you should replace mine with the 4's!
SightUp
Not really sure how to answer this but I'll try. We need to include auto-down (APD) as we sell our speakers to some European countries that require it. We're not a large enough company to make region specifics SKU's with different features. We improved the auto power-up (APU) specifically with gamers and people who stream music in mind and I think we did an excellent job when compared to our previous speakers.
I know that a big reason why you want to try our YU4's is that you'd like to write a review specifically for the community stating whether our new speakers are suited for gaming and if we've improved the functionality compared to the YU3. I understand that you don't feel like many of the reviews on the web are critical enough but insulting the partnerships we've established with our reviewers is the wrong way to go about helping your community. You may feel entitled to new speakers but it's something we cannot help you with. If you feel the need to discuss this any further you can hit me up on reddit or email our support team.

Me too. whats the deal. says there are 10 hours left.
Milind.K
Same here, was waiting tell some funds cleared, now i cant buy?
I'm giving up as these drops aren't shipping to canada anyway (canadian company got our backs eh) and buying my sub6 from the sears website for 219 cdn. If any other canucks want one they have it cheaper than any other site i've seen that's not on sale.
Miraculous
@Miraculous @Turcoda @Chelsea I posted this reply in the YARO2 drop a few months back but I'll paste it here as well:
"We couldn't offer free shipping on Canadian orders and with this additional cost added, after exchange, it kind of kills the deal for Canadians. We decided to keep this US only for that reason. We'll be running promo's on YARO2 in the future with different retailer that will make more sense to Canadians. Sorry to all our Canadians friends reading this, you will have deals soon!"
We used to ship directly to Canadians at a reasonable cost but shipping arrangements changed. Combined with the exchange rate our decision was that it makes more sense to work with Canadian partners for our Canadian customers. It's a double-edged sword, either charge high shipping rates and have our Canadian customers feel like they're getting gouged, or limit our drops to US only and have our Canadian customers saying we don't have their backs. Wish we could satisfy everyone on Massdrop but I hope you understand our position a bit better now.
Any opinion on this setup for a home theater? I've got a 65" LG. Looks like most are using these for computers.
chewieee
@chewieee The YU3's have more midrange presence than the YU5's so they work quite well in dialogue heavy applications like home theatre. Pair them with a sub and they make a really good 2.1 setup. We know people will be using these in their living rooms which is why we provide two optical inputs.
Is there any sort of auto-switching between inputs? If my TV is plugged into the Toslink and my Chromecast into 3.5mm and one is off and one is off and the other starts playing, will it switch? Or do I need to use the remote?
IamTheFij
@IamTheFij there is no auto switching and the YU3 does not wake automatically from standby if you send it an audio signal
Throwing this out here.
I just want the Sub6.
I'm willing to buy the Sub6 from a participant (I'll pay for the shipping of course.)
I'm interested but i'm from the Netherlands, any chance the next drop will be worldwide?
Horizons
@Horizons We do not sell internationally at the moment, not because we don't want to, but because we can't support international customers in the same we we support our domestic customers. We do not have any service centres or warehouses outside of North America. If an issue develops that would result in an exchange you would be responsible for shipping costs to send the faulty speaker back to North America. I realize this might not be the answer you're wanting to hear but I hope it clarifies things.
KantoLiving
Some people would consider that to be worth the risk. I'm in Canada and I wouldn't mind paying shipping charges on the off chance something were to go wrong. I mean, the value of the items should be proportionate to the shipping charges, but we're just talking about relatively small speakers here, not an entire Home Theater In Box, so it wouldn't be drastic.
Company based in Vancouver, I live in Vancouver, doesn't ship to Canada :(
I would totally buy a Sub6 for 140. If it were separate,
Any way to order just the sub6? I have a pair of yu2 speakers already and have been awaiting a drop on the sub6 for some time but to no avail.

How bright are the LEDs for power/standby/pairing?
doubleyouseepot
Not that bright at all. The LED is behind a very dark plastic.
