I just wanted to share my review with the community.

tl;dr Don't buy these. To many bugs and/or incomplete features.
SightUpTo get CE certified our speakers need to go into standby after a certain amount of time which is why this feature cannot be disabled. It seems like our speakers would have worked for you if:
1.) The volume threshold to keep the speakers on was lowered. That way you can have your audio source at a low volume without them going into standby. Currently you have to keep your source volume somewhat high to ensure the speakers do not go to sleep.
2.) The duration of detecting audio to take the speakers out of standby was shorter. That way when your computer plays a short/quick sound the speakers would resume. Currently the speakers need to "hear" a few seconds of audio to wake up.
3.) The time it takes to wake up was shorter. That way you wouldn't miss anything played from your speakers. Currently it takes a few seconds for the speakers to wake up.
When listening to music these shortcomings should not be an issue. Your concerns are valid for computer gaming though, most computer speakers are on all the time which means you never usually have to run into problems caused by a speaker that has sleep/wake functionality. I'm going to be passing this by our engineering team as we want our speakers to work well in all situations.
With that being said we do not advertise the automatic wake-up feature on our website or product listings as it's something that only the newest revision YU3's have. Maybe you assumed our speakers had this feature when in reality most of the YU3's on the market have to physically be woken up using the remote or knob on the front of the speaker. I have a feeling this would have frustrated you a lot more. Wish you were happier with the YU3's, as you mentioned they sound great but it looks like we have some work to do to make them more gaming friendly.

confedMy review was based upon my personal general use and from a gamers aspect. I hope you find it useful and as I said before, I hope that Kanto also finds it useful!

KantoLivingCE certification is not required in the US (only Europe), so perhaps Kanto could change the auto-shutoff behavior for the US market.

KantoLivingHas this issue been fixed in the YU4?
FaceMcBashyThe YU4 has improved signal detection. It is more sensitive compared to the YU3 so quiet, quick noises will wake them from standby. It is also quicker and takes only about 1 second to turn on. We used feedback from our YU3/YU5 customers to make the YU4/YU6 an all around better performer.

KantoLivingIs the YU3 sound quality equal to the YU4? The 5 to the 6?
SightUpThat is correct. YU4 sounds similar to YU3. YU6 has a bit more mid-range than the YU5 but otherwise sounds similar.

KantoLivingDid the YU4's get made with my recommendations in mind?

SightUpYour review stopped me from buying the YU3 on amazon which is going for $170. I don't think I am willing to shell out extra $130 to have this issue fixed.

FaceMcBashyThank you for the vote of confidence! I am happy that my review did not fall on deaf ears! I wrote it for people just like you.
I will let you, and everyone else in the community, when Kanto fixes their issues. Like I said, they sound great but they are just broken feature wise. I am following Kanto very closely and want them to make a good product that I can use as a daily product. Here's to hoping they listen! Still awaiting on a response from KantoLiving. I have about 5 more questions before I decide on whether or not to buy the new ones.
SightUpImproving auto power-up was a goal of YU4 and YU6 and was influenced by customer feedback including yourself.

SightUpThis is the response I got when I asked them about it:
" Thanks for reaching out to us. We have revised the sensitivity for the APU so there shouldn't be any source volume issues with the YU4. Let us know if you have any other questions. "
Its a shame I can't buy the YU3 since I probably won't be able to tell the difference between the two aside the $130 price difference since I never got nice speakers before. There also isn't any review of the YU4 either. Will wait to see if there is going to be any sales within the next two months. I doubt it will since the speaker was just released in Jan this year. Want some nicer speakers to go with a planned PC build next month or so.
SightUpNo you cannot

KantoLivingI am not buying this then and why would I? I don't get it. If you have to adjust it at all, you should have made the next one with the ability to turn it off to appease people who didn't want that feature what so ever. Why would I risk running into the same problem again? Just because you say it's been adjusted doesn't mean it fixes the issue. If you are so confident with your product, as I have created the most comprehensively critical review, you should send me a pair of them for free with the presumption that if you really did make a good product that I would make another review that gave the in and outs of the speakers. Because the people whom you sent the YU3's to are crap reviewers and just say box specs. You need to send them to people who will actually use them and will put you on blast or sing your praises if you made a good product. If you made a good product you should replace mine with the 4's!
SightUpNot really sure how to answer this but I'll try. We need to include auto-down (APD) as we sell our speakers to some European countries that require it. We're not a large enough company to make region specifics SKU's with different features. We improved the auto power-up (APU) specifically with gamers and people who stream music in mind and I think we did an excellent job when compared to our previous speakers.
I know that a big reason why you want to try our YU4's is that you'd like to write a review specifically for the community stating whether our new speakers are suited for gaming and if we've improved the functionality compared to the YU3. I understand that you don't feel like many of the reviews on the web are critical enough but insulting the partnerships we've established with our reviewers is the wrong way to go about helping your community. You may feel entitled to new speakers but it's something we cannot help you with. If you feel the need to discuss this any further you can hit me up on reddit or email our support team.
