What appreciable benefit exists for these over JBL LSR305's which run the same price?

NeddogeKeep in mind the LSR305s are individually powered and are "monitors", the Kanto only has one with actual amplifier, the other speaker is passive, the Kanto has a remote and volume knob. I missed the LSR305s this time around, when they are offered again I'll pick two up.

Neddogehttps://www.reddit.com/r/ZReviews/comments/3s5o9j/kanto_yu5_239_on_massdrop/cwua7ub/ From a Kanto rep, while having not heard it, he states that the YU5's aren't studio monitors, meaning they aim more for enjoyment, so probably a slight V-shape frequency response. If you want a more flat response, the 305's are better, but they don't have as much features, such as Bluetooth.
