PaulngThis was posted by a Kanto Rep. - YU5's lean towards being bright with a slightly recessed midrange. They work really well with modern recordings, hip hop, and electronic music. I personally haven't tested the A5+ against the YU5 but from my experience the A5+ has more bass extension than the YU5's. The A5+'s also have more power so they may go louder than the YU5's if SPL is important. Our speakers have Bluetooth, optical inputs (x2), and a much better remote than the A5+'s. The remote has bass and treble adjustments and can control your audio (previous, play/pause, skip) while connected to a Bluetooth source. The YU5 is our best selling bookshelf system and people love how they sound. If you want a speaker that will trounce the Audioengine's in terms of sound quality pick up our YUMI. They're currently on sale at Amazon for the same price as the YU5's and sound fantastic with any type of audio thrown at it. You lose 10 watts RMS per channel compared to the YU5's but you get some of the sweetest sounding tweeters I've heard in powered bookshelf speakers at that price range. PM me if you need any other info! https://www.reddit.com/r/audio/comments/3q6d3x/kanto_yu5_vs_audioengine_a5b/
