I have received it today.I have not used it yet but I already have something that I feel people should know.
1. It is absolutely tiny.........A bit too small for my taste and I was expecting a bigger pen based on the picture. But in retrospect the 1st line of the description is how small it is...So yeah it is more of my fault and I should read the size description.
2.It looks not as nice as the one in the description. It is still a beautiful pen but if I saw this in a store and were quoted $139 I would just walk a way.I have noticed similar problems with some other Massdrop offerings.Sometimes some seller just provide better samples for MD and ship normal ones.Or Massdrop's photographer is trying too hard.Which I do not approve and they will not get my business ever again unless even the degraded product is still very nice for the price.
3.Mine came with one noticeable scratch on it(not very noticeable on my iPhone‘s camera)....And several smaller ones next to it....Come one I thought this is hand-made with care. For this price AND with scratches I would just get an used Montblanc/Pelikan and it would be more of a bang for the buck.Seriously,I'd like an answer for this and the questions above.I am willing to pay a premium for a hand-made product that is crafted with care and high standard but this one doesn't seem to be.
4.The thread is harsh,it just don't feel smooth when removing the cap.A bit disappointed for a $139 pen this small. Not a deal breaker in itself but combined with things said above it just made me felt that it is not worth this much.
It would be kind if you have also bought this and would like to share your experience with the pen.It would help me to decide if I want to stay away from this particular brand. Thanks!

DeathWatchYou also clearly missed the part where it said in the description that EVERY PEN WILL LOOK DIFFERENT. They hand torch them using oil. No two pens will ever had the same identical design.
The scratches are probably from when they tested positing the pen to ensure the cap fit snugly. Even if those weren't there before you received the pen, they would almost certainly end up happening at some point if you use the pen posted (which you obviously will with such a small pen).

DeathWatchYour pen looks WAY better than the one pictured on MD. So much more color to it. If you didn't think you were going to appreciate the look of the pen, why did you purchase one? Having a unique burned metal look is pretty awesome.
You should probably stay away from buying any pens that aren't mass produced. You will probably always be disappointed when it doesn't look exactly like the pretty picture.

berwalddHmm I guess it depends. I prefer the picture one and you like this one. However I emailed MD asking return/refund and they ignored me. Hence I was pissed

DeathWatchDue to the nature of group buys such as this that MD does, I don't really think they can/would do returns or refunds. Also, MD did not make the pen. It was made by Kaweco. Why should MD be responsible for a mistake made by Kaweco?
Realize that you got a $180 pen for about $40 cheaper than retail price. Basically, MD makes little if any profit off of this sale. They put out drops to determine demand, and then collect payment for the drop. I imagine they probably pay the up front cost to the manufacturers for drops like this where there is a limited quantity, and then are just reimbursed the costs based on how many people purchase the drop.

DeathWatchDirect from MD website:
Some products purchased on Massdrop do include a manufacturer's warranty. These products will have the warranty listed on the drop page. Products that do not come with a manufacturer's warranty will be subject to a 30-day return policy linked here. If you experience any issues with your product and it is within the 1-year warranty period, please contact Massdrop Support for assistance.
Basically, you need to reach out to Kaweco if the product contains a manufacturer's warranty.
