Kaweco pens are okay. own a couple plastic sports, that i mainly use for pocket carry. At $99.00, i'd say the only people buying this pen are either new to pen collecting and find something appealing . A $99.00 budget opens up a large list of pens that outclass this pen. You can find a Platinum 3776 for around 70 bucks on amazon which have the 14k gold plated nib.
Idk, if ask me its kind of a ripoff, but if you are a fan boy of this brand of have a fetish for metal then this would be a nice fit for you.

BleetherI like German things made in Germany. I like metal, solid metal and not plated stuff. I write like a chicken can draw. I own not one single fountain pen. Do I qualify as a buyer of this pen?

BrainFlushI would start with a starter pen. Like Pilot Metro or if you want German then a Pelikan Twist maybe. https://www.bing.com/search?q=pelikan+twist+fountain+pen&PC=U316&FORM=CHROMN

AventadorI should have mentioned. I don't like plastics or small things in this regard. And when I dive into something blindly. I'll still choose something semi-ridiculous or over-the-top than something not. Like this pen on this drop.
But thank you for the link and help. Sincerely.

BrainFlushIf you dont like small pens, then you wont like this pen. The Kaweco Sport is really small, which works perfectly for me since i have really small hands for a guy.
The nib on this pen is nothing special and compared to other pens it is really cheap. It has an inconsistent ink flow, and daily use will actually wear the tines so that it bleeds out a lot of ink. My extra fine nib went from a .7 mm to a 1.2 mm with just from use. If you have small writing like me, this is extremely bad. It will make your letters "e, a, b...ect" look horrible. I basically only use this pen for marking up documents or writing big words on the outside of files.
If your looking for a daily writer this is not for you. If you are looking for something to just sign your name, or to look flashy on your desk this is fine. if you have BIG writing this is fine.
Personally i hate to see this pen sell for so much money!

AventadorI meant girth. Sorry man. Not nitpicking. I have the Böker pen and it's thickly but small in length. Sadly it's made in China now. I appreciate the help though.

BleetherActually that was what I had planned. Just for my desk and only when I need to sign something. My daily is the Böker. Thank you for the breakdown.

BleetherIf you are bending a steel nib, you are pressing way too hard when you write. Fountain pens, when properly tuned and maintained, require almost no pressure on the paper at all. If you are trying to get line width variation out of this nib - it’s not made for that. This pen nib has what collectors call a steel nail: very stiff. Best of luck with your next pen!
