XyzacOne thing that comes to mind is that the Poker II uses Cherry switches as opposed to Gateron as well as having 3 programmable layers. Some people prefer the feel of Gateron switches (particularly Browns, from what I've heard) but I've also heard anecdotal evidence that Gateron has less stringent quality control.
Also, I believe the poker II's DIP switches allow you to change to other keyboard layouts (Colemak, dvorak, workman's, etc.) and I see no mention of that here, unless I've missed it.

jgiambHow about portability? The reason why I haven't bought any Poker keyboards yet is because I heard they're heavy af. Not sure if it's the right 60% keyboard to haul around campus.

XyzacUnlike the latest poker this uses standard mount plates and PCB so you can fit it into generic aftermarket cases easily (aluminum, wood, fg etc...), with poker you will pay through the nose for specific ones. Build quality of KBP boards is excellent, I don't have much experience with poker so can't really compare. Downsides - not programmable and the caps are shitty; admittedly, since the mount points are standard, you could replace the PCB if you are ok with a soldering iron and most enthusiast will get custom caps at some stage. IMHO, for the money, this is an excellent board - as long as you don't need to program custom layers.
I would put one caveat to this - you can get this board with the far superior Matias alps clones, far far better typing experience than cherry types.

petitato07Buy this one then or grow some muscles. The backlit version weight 512g. FYI

XyzacThe tl;dr version --> Don't worry about Gateron switches that's not going to be a issue. ~~~~
No real reason, build quality is close enough, the pok3r is probably a bit better but not enough to not get this keeb.
As far as Cherry vs Gateron it's also a wash. I own several of both, the Cherry's are more clicky and gritty while the Gateron's are quite and smooth it just depends on what you want both have there strengths & weakness.
The build quality on Gateron & Kailh switches have really improved over the last few years. Most of the people talking about build quality haven't bought them recently.

Brad.ClarkstonI have a V60 with cherry mx clear switches and red/green backlighting from a drop quite awhile ago. Compared to other keyboards I have that also have cherry MX clears, it feels squishy and awful. My best guess is that it is related to the all-plastic construction of the body of the keyboard.

TueraiDoes it not have a metal backplate or something? My new poker II has a plastic body with a backplate which I'm assuming is either steel or aluminium and it feels very solid.

jgiambI never looked into it that much, I just only use it as a spare keyboard because I don't really like typing on it much. I think if I was going for the same form factor again, I'd probably just build a OLKB Preonic

TueraiThat's very odd, all v60s I've seen have been rock solid. Are you sure your is not broken somehow?
jgiambNo I think he's talking about the feedback on the switches not spring in the keyboard, that would just be broken.
Tuerai Are you 100% sure those stems are Cherry ? You sure it's not the older Kailh switches? That would explain the "squish" feel. I doubt the plastic case makes any difference 90% of all mk keebs are plastic to include ducky and Poker which never has that problem.

Brad.ClarkstonI own keyboards fitted with Cherry Blue, Outemu Blue, Kaihl Black, Gateron Brown and Greetech Brown. I have also used Cherry Red and Gateron Blue enough to feel I have an opinion.
I agree that the Cherry switches feel grittier than their Gateron cousins. I've found a preference for tactile non-clicky and have been impressed with Gateron quality and consistency so much that I have bought them in bulk for re-switching some of my other keyboards.

XyzacPok3r is programmable and this only has some switches that are moveable. That's my guess

Xyzacfor my money I prefer my V60 over my pok3r. I also prefer Gat switches over Cherry. I find Gat Blacks to be so smooth! and way nicer then cherry.. blacks.
Also cost wise the pok3r will run you 129-130 dollars.. with metal case... the v60 will run ya 75bucks... so there that to think about also.

XyzacThe KBP v60 provides similar or same performance to the Pok3r for a cheaper price. The primary reason to choose the Pok3r would be for backlighting. So if its not important to you, get the KBP v60.
