Would love it if that mat was available separately and if the mat had magnets (at least in the smaller cubby cutouts underneath the silicone) to keep the screws from moving around (especially if you suddenly have to move while working). Also, Torx Plus bits would be far better than regular Torx, I can't count how many times I've chewed up a bit because I should have been using Torx Plus (IP6) instead of regular Torx (T6).

its_pronounced_feeHi its_pronounced_fee, We thought about making the mat have areas to attract metal and found it not worth the production cost and thus price hike when not all knives use steel hardware. Some are using titanium and thus are not ferromagnetic. As for the Torx vs Torx Plus front, do all screws with a Torx head allow for use of Torx Plus drivers?

mike.jI also would like to know if torx plus is compatible with regular torx screws. Also this would be a cool drop if it was tiered like other drops in the past. Make the tools the base and then have everything else as add-ons for those of us who already have some of the components and don't need duplicates.

bmdubHi bmdub, Thanks for that feedback! We will look into potentially breaking this kit into tiers and maybe even give options for individual items in the future. Thanks again!

its_pronounced_feeTorx bits can drive either Torx or Torx Plus but not the other way around, as far as I know. If you've had problems with Torx screws, they were probably made wrong. It seems like most knife companies don't license the specifications and they just guess at the shape. If you've disassembled a lot of Chinese knives you've probably seen all kinds of variations of these "torx" screws.

awkThank you for the info. That would probably explain why I've had some tough times taking apart my Chinese knives with my cheaper torx set.
its_pronounced_feeThe Wera precision drivers in this set are Torx with a holding function. They are closer to torx plus in style and work great with all torx screws. i use these daily making my knives.
awkahhh, that would explain why both my FF Falcon and FF BUC stripped three of my TORX bits even after heating up the screws. Wiha were kind enough to send me replacements and a TORX-PLUS bit, no issues with the TORX-PLUS bits so far though - too afraid to even try regular TORX.
