2 things.... First, I find it odd that there aren't a couple small Phillips and Flathead bits included. In the "Knife Maintenance Kit to End All Knife Maintenance Kits", brought to you by MassDrop, you can't even disassemble the Gent.... Also brought to you by MassDrop 🤔 (much less any knives that use smaller screws in their scales) Secondly, why is there a 4 month lead time when this is just a kit compiling preexisting items? Is it really taking that long to manufacture a nylon storage pouch?

KavikOutside of the pricepoint, the lead time really kills this for me.

KavikHey Kavik, Good points. As for the phillips and flathead drivers, we figured the benefit of including that bit was limited since most people might already have those driver types. Given, not everyone will but they will have the driver to insert the phillips or flathead bit into should they need it. We felt the same with spanner bits that while are sometimes needed, weren't a great cost benefit for this kit. As for lead time, it's always a concern and while the pouch will take a few weeks to produce, its thats not whats holding us up. It's the lead time on the Wera tools. For the order we asked for, it will take 6-10 weeks for those tools to be produced and shipped. As for everything else in the kit, it's basically ready to go.

mike.jI almost mentioned spanners, but figured those were way less common (and those are like $6/bit from this brand). But retail on the Phillips and flat bits are like a buck or less. To be honest, I'm not buying this kit because I already have what I need, but if I were looking at it, at another buck out of 125, I'd rather get the matching set without having to order such a common piece separately. I'm surprised to hear it's the tools that have the lead time, but okay, guess that explains it some

mike.jGlad to know that my ramblings get read lol I've always been a big fan of enthusiast forums, I'm a big believer in crowd sourcing of ideas and opinions, and find this specific model to be particularly interesting...where we can not only talk amongst ourselves as users, but can also interact with our supplier (though, I'm gonna reiterate something I've said before; it would be nice if each drop listed a point of contact, as many times questions to the staff to unnoticed, and we don't always know who to tag)

KavikThats a good idea and I will bring this up amongst our team. I know we can sometimes get caught up in trying to get the next item out for you all and we might forget to go back and read past drops to check in but I will do my best to not leave things behind.
KavikWera will be doing a full production run just for Massdrop on these and that is the main reason for the longer lead times.

SheepdogknivesIs that so they can have MassDrop in big bold letters on the side of them? 😁😂🤣 Sorry, just a joke about the knife collaborations, couldn't resist. But i guess that makes more sense if it's that big of an order, to avoid running short of stock elsewhere

mike.jAs with firearms, hollow ground common bits are necessary. Not everyone has those and wonder why they fasteners are forever damaged. Then there are those Spanner bits. It is a nice set though. It really has me on the fence.
