I don't think the price is anything special, but this is a quality and well thought out servicing kit. I would love to see someone put the same effort in compiling a tool and servicing kit for Cell Phones and electronic devices like tablets. The only kits you can find are the cheap Chinese kits that you can find here and on Amazon. I tried one of those kits and most of the tools are single use at best. Just fine if you are only buying the kit for a single repair, but for someone that is always tinkering or fixing for friends and family, it's a waste of money. It wouldn't be cheap as you need more items that this knife kit, but it would be unique unless someone is aware of a quality kit out there. Could use the same silicone mat, Wera/Wiha drivers and bits, Knipex tweezers, 3M spudgers, Olfa/Exacto knife, microfiber cloth, etc.. Throw in a mini heat gun, a quality suction cup, and a pouch to keep it all in. I think anyone who has ever tried the Jakemy or similar kits would be pleased with such an option.

akoviaI think ifixit's kits are the electronics repair kits you are talking about. I wish Ifixit and massdrop had some kind of deal or collaboration, it would really be a great union of communities. you can see in the comments of the drop you linked to, some users were not happy that massdrop brought a chinese competitor of the ifixit kit: https://www.massdrop.com/buy/54-bit-diy-pro-tech-tookit/talk/1837095 as for a kit I recommend to you, check out ifixit's pro kit. I have one, and it the quality is very high. I could tear apart any phone on the market, but I mostly use it for random small electronics projects around the home. They do offer a version with a silicone mat too https://www.ifixit.com/Store/Tools/Pro-Tech-Toolkit/IF145-307

me0wmix@me0wmix Thanks for the link. That is indeed a better looking kit than the one that was offered here and I like the lifetime warranty. Certainly worth a look. The Repair Business Toolkit looks really interesting. (They could keep the $20 meter though.) I still think a basic yet premium kit would make a nice drop.
