Support for Alternative Layouts
This is a summary of how alternative layouts have been supported by kits such as Colevrak and Homing. It is not a discussion of alt layout performance and development, but if that interests you I highly recommend starting with Pascal Getreuer’s A guide to alt keyboard layouts (why, how, which one?). It’s a concise and comprehensive overview with links to some great sites that go deeper. He also has a separate Links about keyboards page. The Keyboard layouts doc he recommends explains layout goals and metrics in detail, summarizing the alt layouts discussed here as well as more than one hundred others. I personally have never had an issue with Massdrop but this is a bit disheartening to hear. I've been in customer service all my life and this is not how treat a customer, especially with the problems you have had to sit through.
I do not usually advise this, but you may want to consider contacting your bank and issuing a chargeback to get your money back. If you purchased last year, you may be outside the limit to issue, but it looks like you have well documented comments on this thread going back a year. If you are still within the time limit, I see no reason why you should not expect a full refund from your financial institution.
Be advised if you issue a charge back, you will be barred from purchasing with Massdrop again, your card will be blocked and you will be blacklisted as a chargeback will most likely violate Massdrops T&C's, but after your experience I would image you give very few f**ks about purchasing with Massdrop again and would just like some resolution with your issue.

We offered you a refund for the return of the product instead of a replacement for the "F" key because we do not have any extras on hand. In addition, we are not able to source these exact keys anymore - thus the only thing we can do is offer a return.
