Silly question: is there any reason why these shouldn't be used as an everyday coffee/tea mug? I'm not a camper, but do like the look and style of these mugs.
VertNo reason I can think of. The titanium is bacteria resistant, odorless, tasteless, easy to clean.
If anything hot tea or coffee might heat the mug up extra quickly and also allow it to cool down faster than a normal mug. Also you won't be able to put it in the microwave to reheat the contents.
cwmst22Titanium is a remarkably poor conductor of heat, it'll actually take a little bit longer for it to heat up and it won't transfer the heat as readily to your hands as a stainless steel mug would.
VertThey'll hold up just fine. Single-walled mugs aren't super comfortable as they are thin-walled and will get hot, but there's no practical reason other than that. I prefer double-walled mugs and use a Snowpeak titanium cup as a "daily driver".
iwendtThank you (and also thanks to the others who replied to me). I had the same thought about their getting hot. So, I picked up a double-walled Ti mug elsewhere. A little pricey, but I think it will be worth it as I won't have to ever worry about breaking it when doing the dishes or if I drop it!
VertYou would need to very, very, careful if drinking hot liquids from these cups, just as you would from any other cup made of metal. They WILL burn you if not handled appropriately.
