How long are the stakes physically? I know the add says 14" but I have grown cautious w/those descriptions. I just ordered 14 inch stakes from Amazon to modify my current tent (I need to pack the tent into my sidebags on the bike) ; when I received them I realized that the measurement did not include the length of the non-anodized insert onto which the other stake is pushed on, raising the total length to 16 inches from end to end. Does anybody know how long these stakes are? Buying a tent w/short stakes would be preferable over modifying my Sunseeker tent.

DesastorThe stakes that I got are not the same as pictured, but they are just shy of 7" from the spike to the top of the crook. Also, they feel pretty solid, not the cheap ones that bend the first time you look at them.

DesastorI just realized that I misunderstood what you were asking.. still not certain, but I think I have a better idea.. The packed length actually is 14" (I just took a ruler to it). I too was looking for a tent that I can fit in a somewhat smaller backpack and this definitely fits the bill.
