I got a pair of Koss ESP950's for $522.31 from Amazon's warehouse deals on an open box return. The retail packaging was a bit beat up but everything inside was as new. I cannot see spending $700 for the better model. All I care about is the sound quality not the bragging rights that the cups are made out of 2000 year old bog wood. That just sounds elitest to me.

Wow these headphones look amazing! But you know a 1/3 of the price is for that wood....

Let god bless all of you with Peace. My 2 cents on this whole issue of "MSRP" ... let's keep it simple and this is my solution to which you may or may not agree with: If you like what you see and can afford it then buy if you need it and if not then don't .,,
Hmm, If it were me, I would just go over to Fischer Audio's site, and order each piece of this headphone separately, and pay $100 less. Sure, the pads are a protein leather and the cups are not bog wood, just regular wood, but you get the better, titanium coated driver. I did this a while back and went with the nice metal headband, ti coated drivers with the magano wooden cups, and I ordred the full leather Brainwavz HM5 pads from MP4.net. All in I was like $253, and I love the setup.
Lets be real here, you are paying for the Kennerton name. In the end, these are just yet another re-branded Yoga CD880 (along with the HM5, NVX 100, FA003 etc...) Don't buy these and overpay by $100. Pick the wood you want and get them from Fischer Audio if you really want them. At $250 they are worth it, but not $350.
