FrostyPI get it's another variation of the Fischer but would like to know is it the same driver. It really needs to be sent to a well known reviewer. I have $400+ and the option of this or the well known TR-X00, which do I pick this unknown or the Fostex?
rslataraThe T50 sold for like $75 all over the place for quite a while, and people were selling their custom mods for upwards of $1000. Sure, a review would help justify it, but massive markups for customs like this are far from uncommon. Even if it's the same driver with some tuning tweaks in a custom shell, $150-200 for a heavy modification would be cheap given things that exist in this hobby.
ProfessorPatThe T50RP is about $130, those mods are heavily modified like ZMF or Mrspeakers. I use an Argon myself daily in work. There isn't enough info on this product for me.
rslataraIf you honestly think that the only thing that matters in headphones are drivers, please keep your cheap NVX, mod them all you want, and stop bothering potential buyers with uneducated guesses...
Kennerton has proposed custom-made models on MD several times with relatively good discounts.
You know why ? Because all Kennerton headphones are hand crafted (and not in China at 2$ per hour) and assembled in small series. The built quality is simply excellent, drivers are tuned and matched, unlike the cheap NVX that are mass-manufactured in China with piss poor quality control (as always). These are evolutions from the previous Kennerton Magister if you're looking for reviews to know how they're tuned.
But hey, I suppose you realistically expect high quality items handcrafted at 80$ with free delivery and have no issue buying "premium" jeans made by Pakistan kids for 5$ per month ...
Please make yourself a favor and go read about Kennerton headphones and reviews before you make assumptions that are simply based on thin air. There ARE reviews out there.
It gets tiring to have people that bash any audio item over 500$ with no idea about what they're talking about.
rslataraAs I said, they were selling for about $75 at the time. And this was pre Mr Speakers or ZMF. This was back when there were the Thunderpants and everything started following suit.
Point is, even back before heavy testing, and when they were even cheaper in stock form, they sold at massive markups without people complaining that they were crazy overpriced or awful unknowns without the testing we see on newer things.
TienbasseHaven't a clue about Mid-Fi Kennertons. They use the exact same frame and 42mm/64Ohm driver as the NVX. Why haven't any prominent reviewer got their hands on a set to show how good they are?
