When it was introduced, the Ken Onion–designed Blackout shocked the knife world. The first folder to utilize the now-renowned Speedsafe assisted opening system, it set a new standard for production knives—so much so that it was named Blade Magazine’s Best Buy at Blade Show. Simple, discreet, and ergonomically crafted, the Kershaw Blackout is small enough for everyday carry, but tough enough for a wide range of tasks.
Note: At checkout, choose between the plain edge and partially serrated edge. This drop is limited to 86 units. Due to the manufacturer's distribution policy, this knife can only be shipped to US addresses.
Sandvik 14C28N steel is known for its hardness, edge retention, and ease of sharpening. And it plays the starring role in the Kershaw Blackout. The 3.25-inch drop-point blade is suitable for cutting, piercing, and, detail work. Adding to the blade’s durability is diamond-like coating, which also creates a stealthy black look. To deploy the blade, all that’s required is a simple flick on the thumb stud and it flies open. A liner lock holds it in place. The handle, made from glass-filled nylon, is wider in the mid-section for a natural grip. It’s outfitted with a tip-down pocket clip for ease of carry.
