Call it the tiger shark of knives: This special-edition Kershaw Blur features a 3.4-inch tanto blade made from BDZ1 stainless steel. Its slightly recurved shape delivers excellent piercing, and slicing power Read More
I have this knife in BDZ1. I like it very much. This is a very good price. Hmm? Do I need two dozen Kershaws? What would Fatman say? Knife me, Coleman. But that would be misunderstood. It would be better if he just said, Mo! Mo! Mo!. I think I'm going to get this.
Glad to see when Kershaw bought out Zero Tolerance, and ruined their product line with horrible designs, they also appropriated their signature tiger stripe blade.
Ha - Go figure, I am carrying my BDZ1 Blur tanto today. I love the tanto version but the regular one.. eh, not so much. That recurve is not fun to resharpen.
BitvarOf course it's better, that's ~40% more money. Bdz1 is good steel at this price point. Gets really sharp and holds an edge better than 420hc, aus8 or 8cr that are common in the <$50 price range.
This is an okay deal if you dig the tiger stripe look and the price gets down to 47. Otherwise better deals on blurs can be found frequently.
Dang I love the look of that Blue! I’ve had an affinity with the Blur as it holds a couple of firsts for me. The Black/Black Tanto Combo Edge Blur was my first Kershaw, my first Assisted Opener, my first liner lock, and probably my first truly Modern folder in any variation (limited to my failing memory 😬). Prior to that point, I was fairly satisfied with slip joints, lockbacks, and the like. As my knife collection has morphed from dozens to hundreds, I'd say it left a mark. 😁😇
At one point I had many Blurs. But now down to only three (that I can readily find anyway). My original Tanto/Combo Edge, and two Tan/Black (or is it Dark Earth?). Most of the others were given away as gifts.
But THAT BLUE!!!!!!! Argggg, dang budgets.
Oh, one more thing. Every single Blur that I've purchased have been absolute laser sharp right out of the box. I don't think that has happened with any other knife that I've purchased multiples of.......Ever.
Blacplastic2-3 months ago there was a better deal on the Kershaw Blur. There was a killer deal on the Kizer Gemini about a month ago. MD also had one of their sprint runs with a knife designer about a month ago at a very good price. It all depends on what you want and price shopping.
