Cheaper elsewhere. Amazon, Walmart, BladeHQ, KnivesShipFree, etc. Just Google it and you will find it cheaper and in most cases shipped free. WTF MassDrop?
ShawnRufus
Yep..based on many excellent reviews, I ordered one from Wal-Mart. It was at my front door in three days!
Great tree chopper and brush cutter.
$38.95 at walmart.com free shipping.
Zombie Killa
$41.11 with free prime shipping right now......where are the deals anymore?
these things are literally $5 cheaper for instant delivery from bladehq ... so yeah, I'm done with md, it's always without exception not a good deal anymore
hope they get their act together
These machetes are awesome. They're super sharp from the factory and hold up to a ton of abuse. I've passed through wrist thick branches in one swipe (albeit with the 18, not the 10). The steel resharpens easily. These make any kind of brush and branch clearing a cinch. The handle is super grippy and the sheath is fantastic. They are a really high quality item. When most folks around me are taking their Christmas trees to special disposal yards, I just whip out my machete and bust it down into my compost bin.
Just so everyone knows, the grey is on amazon for $38.24 with prime shipping and the tan is $46 with prime shipping.
Does anybody know how this steel compares to 1055?

65Mn were originally used to produce a majority of bayonets for the AK47. These are incredibly tough and doesn't suffer from discolourisation and corrosion like the 1055 does.
Good budget machete but too expensive to ship it to Australia.
Is that an exclusively Left-handed sheath?
SpecialEd
That's what she said!
SpecialEd
No, the sheath is fully configurable for a vertical/horizontal carry on either side of the body.
The black 1077 is 38$ prime on Amazon now.
If this was the Camp 14 I would be more interested. That said, I like that it's top heavy with more of a kukri shape.
Not much of a deal, you can get this for 43.99 right now on Amazon. Not the tan model, but still same specs. The Tan model is 48.99 on Amazon. That being said, this is the best budget chopper on the market, and well worth owning wherever you buy it if you do much deep woods camping. Great big bladed knife at a reasonable price.
how sharp of an edge can the blade hold and does it need much maintence?
Ev4n
I hardly had to sharpen it out of the box, held an edge for 3 weeks of backwoods camping before it was even slightly dull.
