Product Description
Part of Ken Onion’s line of Kershaw knives inspired by his own namesake, the Chive is on the smaller end of folding knives, which makes it easy to fit in a pocket, pack, glove box, purse, or really anywhere you need it. The Chive features a recurved blade made from 420HC stainless steel (but you can upgrade to Damascus if you like) Read More

I kind of hate to say this, but...my blue Chive is the least macho of my collection and the one that sees the most pocket time.

I bought this knife for all my groomsmen a few years back and had each one engraved for them. Fantastic little knife, everyone still has theirs and raves about them to this day. Super little knife.

I'm a big fan of Kershaw's knives, and the Ken Onion designs in particular. I own the Chive in two different variants (including the stainless version) and my son has one as well. They are great light duty knives, with the only real problem being that lousy lock, as other commenters have noted. Like Buck, they do a good job with the 420 steel.
However, this just isn't really a deal for the base model. It's regularly available at a lower price than this on Amazon, and often much lower around black Friday or the occasional deal of the day. Massdrop, you can do better!
The Damascus versions are a little bit different story, not as widely available and a few dollars more at other retailers. That's the potential value on this drop. They look cool, but I honestly can't think of why I would want a Damascus version of a Chive, or any other light pocket knife like this. But I'm a utilitarian kind of guy, so that's just my personal take.

I'm not sure on the deal here. These knives are constantly on Amazon for lower than the bottom price here... and with free shipping. (They are very well rated on Amazon) I've had the leek version for over a year now and it holds up well. Sorry, but this drop does not seem to be a deal.
fwiw, right now I'm seeing the chive at $33.13 with free shipping on amazon prime and $32.83 from other sellers with free shipping.

I've had one on my keychain for several years and I almost love it. The only negative about it is the crap lock. It's a tiny piece of plastic that slides back and forth and snaps off extremely easily. I've already sent it to Kershaw twice to fix/replace but it has broken again and I'm living with it.
I just wish they made <3" knives like this without assisted opening on nice bearings. It's just the perfect size for a keychain and there's nothing else like it for this price.

I saw that but I'm not really a fan of non-flipper knives. I've had a Spiderco ladybug when I was a kid and liked it a lot but I find the flipper knives just infinitely easier to open.
