Rick Hinderer’s Maximus is the inspiration for the Kershaw Decimus, which, if you’re following along, pays tribute to the hero from Gladiator. Looking at its spear-point blade and tapered handle, the knife’s name is no surprise. This medieval-looking flipper looks more like a longsword than a folder. It features a 3.25-inch blade made from easy-to-sharpen 8Cr13MoV stainless steel and a combination of GFN and stainless steel on the handle. The flipper tab has two flared edges, so it looks like a sword’s hilt, no matter if the knife is open or closed. When open, the knife locks via the stainless steel frame lock. Righties and lefties will be happy with the reversible tip-up pocket clip.
