Wow they don't mention that this is a R.J. Martin design (Chinese manufactured)? Does anyone have any experience with Kershaw coated blades (I know the steel is pretty low end ),but how does their coating hold up, is it dlc ,will it scar and fade or is it pretty good (average use ) I really like the design &the price is pretty good abou $5 cheaper than BHQ less delivery cost too .

Thanks and I'll take 440c over it anytime I wish they used that , but the coating always worries me at this price range ,just really like that Martin open pivot and the shape and don't mind a worn look but that chipped up scarred look with cheaper coatings and with 8cr you'll start to pickup rust . I'll probably debate myself out of it anyway, but appreciate the help and love the smoking Spike

RudolphThe coating is probably comparable to the Boker Kalashnikov coating.

"In the closed position, you can actually see the blade through the handle" But, ya know, don't consider showing it from the front side closed or anything lol

Being a lefty, I won't buy a frame lock. My thumb usually sits right on the lock and fights against me when opening the blade.

sblaydesTry pinching the pivot between your thumb and index finger instead. Usually lefties complain about unlocking, and righties complain about lockbar pressure while opening lol
