Product Description
Designed by Rick Hinderer, who also designed the popular Kershaw Cryo, the Agile is a compact and well-built flipper for everyday tasks. To be frank, the knife doesn’t look particularly agile at first glance, but look a little closer and it’s easy to tell Read More

Anyone in Canada ordered an assisted opener and had it arrive? Any problems/fees at customs? I know this is legal here, and I can buy assisted openers online from stores based in Canada, but it wouldn't at all surprise me if it was held up by some customs agent or at least had extra charges tacked on. I'd love to buy this, but i'm not going to take the risk.

I saw in one review that you can remove the spring if Speedsafe doesn't thrill you. Still not going to help with the customs issue though.
If only it wasn't so dang heavy for its size. Plus shipping brings this almost up to Amazon pricing. Still kinda interested because I like the looks of the sheepsfoot blade and Hinderer design.

Does the speed assist feature use a spring or some sort of other mechanical assistance? It won't be allowed through AU customs if it does...

mat666paw666It is an assisted opening knife which in most legal jurisdiction is completely different from a spring operated switchblade or an automatic knife that opens with the push of a button. But I am not a lawyer and you might want to check the laws in your area.
Edit: it seems that AU considers an assisted open knife the same as an automatic knife, so it is illegal there.

Realize the photos are a bit misleading. This knife has a far darker, non-reflective blackwash finish. The photos on Amazon show the actual finish, which I personally find unattractive, but might be exactly what some need.

Please tell me if other people thought the knife was a bright silver instead of a dull silver.....
So now that this drop is live again, can Massdrop confirm that the knife customers will receive is indeed the Kershaw Hinderer Agile? Most of the comments from the last drop are of people stating they received a completely different knife.

MichaelHeartlessValid concern @MichaelHeartless! We've spoken with the vendor and they have assured us that this will not happen again.

MichaelHeartlessI thought it was way darker then the picture shows the front of the knife and was very , very DISAPPOINTED.....I want a bright silver look not a beat up dark look. I put it in my draw and never looked at it again.....
