It looks like the Damascus version is a pretty decent discount $60+$45 = $105 compared to the $120 street price. Might have to get it.

I like this knife for the thin profile and deep carry and the general look of it. But I need some education here.
I want a steel that holds an edge well, I feel like my cryo II just doesn’t feel like it has that “wow that’s friggin sharp”. Is this any better? Also does a Damascus blade make any difference besides look cool?

You may want to check on YouTube. The reviews are positive and it looks like they use real D2, or something very close. D2 is an excellent steel if heat treated well. It is almost stainless, but it should be cleaned, dried and protected with a thin layer of oil to guard against corrosion.

ScottieGThis. D2 is an excellent steel that holds an edge very well. It will rust, though, so you have to wipe it off immediately after you cut anything acidic(fruit, steak, etc.). If you do that, then you won't have any problems. Its a pain to sharpen, though, and tends to be more brittle than other steels I've encountered. Overall, it's my second favorite steel after s35(which is in an entirely different category)
I've only used Ontario's D2, though, so YMMV.

I got a blemished knockout for $40, blems FTW. One of my Top 3 Kershaw's -- RAM, Skyline, Knockout.

This is, hands down, the best Kershaw i've ever owned. I kicked myself for missing out on that limited edition brown one, with the Elmax blade. Honestly, as far as AO knives go, this thing really is the cat's ass.
Nonetheless, I concur with most of the other posters' comments......if Massdrop thinks they're doing anyone any favors by selling it for $70, they're smoking serious quantities of rock.

I fail to see the point of this drop here, expects perhaps that non-US buyers may get a cheaper price, considering how you can get cheaper price and faster shipping elsewhere. Free same-day delivery for me on Amazon btw.

ERussellExactly, you don't have to wait until it ships and most people if they have prime get it far faster and for less. What is Massdrop thinking?

This price is no bargain. You can get these in a number of places for <$60 shipped. I got mine for $59.99 over 2 years ago. It is a very nice knife though.
