Received mine yesterday (Italy) and love absolutly everything about it. Perfect size, weight, pretty sharp, isn't hard to open in my opinion.
Got mine today. Overall I'm really happy with it. Good size and weight, opens and closes without any trouble. I will say this though, it isn't that sharp, or at least mine wasn't. It's also a pain to use the speed safe, thing takes a hell of a lot of force and the finger piece is too small.

If you are having trouble flicking it open; trying flicking your wrist in addition to it. I presume you don't use blades that use a flick or thumb latch much. As you wear it in it will probably loosen and get smoother as well.
My blade is pretty sharp. Can do a decent paper cut test.
Hey everyone,
We’re happy to report that all of the orders have been shipped out!
Thanks again for the support guys. Make sure to share your experience with the Kershaw Kuro Black Knife on Massdrop.
If there’s anything else we can do to make your Massdrop experience better, feel free to email us at support@massdrop.com.
My bad. Just checked my email and this has SHIPPED!
10/10. Any update?
Does it normally take this long to get a product from mass drop? If so I'm no very impressed

Depends on the product. Sometimes they are pretty quick (Grifiti Big-Ass Bands were shipped within 5 days of the drop ending) and other times it takes a while. Mainly it depends on the vendor and whether they have everything in stock or if they're still trying to get things together.
It's different with every drop.

Ok cool thanks a lot!
Hey Guys,
We spoke to the vendor earlier today and they are still preparing the group's order for shipment. We will stay in contact with them and update the group as soon as the bulk order arrives at our warehouse.
Thanks for your patience and expect an update from us on 10/10 or sooner if something comes up.
Excitedly waiting for my Kershaw to be shipped and to arrive. The drop ended Sept 27 and it is now Oct. 6. Have heard nothing so far, hope this gets shipped soon.
Any news?
Awesome!
Hey everyone,
We submitted our order for The Kershaw Kuro Black Knife shortly after the drop ended.
Now that the order has been placed, the vendor is preparing it for shipment. In the meantime, we will also be getting our warehouse ready to handle the reshipment of the product to everyone as soon as it arrives.
Expect an update on 10/3 or sooner if something comes up.
So now that the drop ended, any idea when it'll be shipped? (to Canada)
Well for me the Amazon shipping costs too much 39.11USD and from Massdrop it is just around 22USD with shipping. So for International is better suited Massdrop thanks for their super cheap shipping for International customers. Massdrop waiting time can be some times quite some time but the price makes it up for me.
You know, I feel as though MSRP is a bit of a pointless measure. 19.42 with shipping here, or 22.13 on Amazon with free shipping. You'll save 2.71 on the item. The problem though would be I have no idea how long it will take Massdrop to get me my item, I have no idea what I would do if I needed to return or exchange the item from Massdrop. I can pay 2.71 more, get my knife in 2 days, and have Amazon.com to back the entire sale. I love the idea of Massdrop, but for such a negligible difference, the idea of jumping in on a sale of an item today, just because you have it for 3 dollars lower is crazy.
Anyone know if this is legal in Australia? There's restrictions on how knives open, and I don't know if the knob-poking-out-the-back thing is okay or not.
Uh, this is 19.96 at Wal-Mart, if you want it today.

You would, if you don't want to wait for a month.

If you can't wait a month, just don't shop on here. I'd rather support someone who is trying to make an honest living than a giant corp that treats their employees like shit.
I have a few kershaw's now. My current daily carry is a Kershaw Leek and even after a few months it's just way too pointy for me where I'm mainly looking at something to open packaging or slicing or something. Also the black finish is already starting to see some wear. Prior to that I had a Kershaw Drone which is similar to this but I quickly got used to the partial serration on leek. Been pretty happy with kershaw. I could never spend $100s on a knife that I'm using to open cardboard or that annoying plastic shrinkwrap stuff.
And yes the speedsafe mechanism is about as close you can get in the U.S. to a switchblade and not be a switchblade. What makes this not a switchblade is it's "lever assisted" which means you have to physically push down/in on the bump to push the blade beyond the tension of the spring that keeps it closed. At that point a spring 'assists' with opening it the rest of the way. A switch blade you press a switch and instantly you have a blade. (insert typical disclaimer that I'm not a lawyer and make sure it really is legal to carry this knife in your area)
Also worth nothing that people that may have a chive that's been sold on here or some other kershaw is this doesn't have a tip lock and as such requires considerably more effort to open than one with a tip lock. And for sharpening I just use a Smith's PP1 and every so often pull it through the ceramic part to keep ridiculously sharp. I probably do it more to remove any of the residue from stickers and such than to actually sharpen it.
Too bad my country doesn't allow knives to be brought in. :(
Is this one of the Chinese knives or is it made in America?

I can see the word "CHINA" on the handle in the last pic. So yea, China ):
I'm a Benchmade fan for working knives. I have 7or 8 blue class Benchmades and I love them! BUT, I've always said, (at least the last couple years anyway) that if you don't want or can't spend the money for a $175+ Benchmade go with Kershaw for sure! I've got a few Kershaws that go for around $40 to $60 and think they're the best you can do in that price range. That beating said, I'm having a little trouble believing in a $16 knife! I'd love to hear more from current owners of this model.
This knife is my daily carry. I bought it for less than the MSRP, but a bit more than the drop price. I carry the knife in my front right pocket, so I moved the placement of the clip. Only occasionally do I have to tighten the screws holding the clip in.
The blade is reliable. I have not sharpened it in the year that I have owned it. It sees moderate use. I have used the knife as a makeshift hammer with success.
I really, really like this knife and would jump on this drop immediately if I had a need for a second one.

Same here. My Kuro sees frequent daily use in lots of different applications. I've had it for almost 2 months and I thoroughly enjoy it. Eye-catching colors and functional blade shape. The grip isn't the best, since while it grips well when dry, if it is wet or if your hands are sweaty it is slipperier than I expected. The assisted open is very handy, and legal in Oregon (since the assist starts after beginning the opening motion). I haven't had to tighten the clip, but I haven't moved it at all so perhaps it's the tightest in the starting position.
If anyone has any questions about the knife I'd try to answer them.
