$67.99 for lowest price this time.
If I didn't already have the rainbow leek I'd be on this. The knife has been great to me for the past 2 years. Not as sharp as out of the box, but luckily I'm a chef that knows how to sharpen knives.
I bought this last drop and I can truthfully say it's my everyday carry and I'm completely satisfied with it. Fabulous knife - very sharp and durable.

Well I always wanted a Leek and that ELMAX looks to be the bees knees, and I gave away my only blackwash knife, so all the stars aligned and this looks like an excellent deal, so I'm in.
If this went down to $60 They would sell thousands of them lol im already in just wish it was a little lower.
just got mine in, feel good, not very sharp, and the blade is a bit too tight/stiff... might just need some dis-assembly and cleaning, then a little sharpening as it can't cut paper well without a sawing motion.... might update once i finish those things

update: after some disassembly, cleaning, reassembly, and just good old opening and closing the blade about a million times, it is now a very smooth action, and a great little knife
Mine arrived yesterday. Great-looking knife!

Ship tomorrow!?

Anyone know if you can put this elmax leek blade in a frame lock leek?

Rest assured that we we will provide you all with updated information regarding the status of your order throughout the process. You can expect an update from us by the end of the day Pacific Time on 10/30.
I don't have this version, I own the rainbow one, but I must say I love this knife. As a chef in high end restaurants, this knife was on par with my $100 japanese petty knife in terms of sharpness when new. I bought my dad one for the past christmas and he uses it as is go to cable stripper(electrician). Basically I'm pumped on this drop and if I needed another one I would jump on it.
I bought this exact knife at a local blade shop in my area for $49.99 before tax. They still have them there but now they are selling them for $67.99 before tax. How are they selling them retail at a lower price than Massdrop can get them discounted?

You're sure you bought the elmax Leek? If so, that is a heck of a deal.

The cheapest I can find one online for is ~$77 shipped. The cheapest I can find the Blackwash version for is ~$85 shipped. Since I want the Blackwash version, Massdrop is $15 less than anywhere else I have been able to find.
In for one! I love the color scheme (brown handle, black hardware, black washed blade), and having an upgraded steel on this great knife will be fantastic.
Pretty nice knife. I love mine. The only quibble I have with Leeks is that the blade grind can be somewhat variable. Some of mine have a fairly straight grind that gives the blade a generous feeling width. Some of my other Leeks have a more curved and pointy grind that makes the blade feel more toothpicky, and slightly more meager in terms of the amount of blade material.

Functionally, it doesn't make too much of a difference. But it definitely affects the feel of the knife and it's perceived solidity.

Also, the springs on the two Elmax Leeks I received were much weaker than those on my three other Leeks. Again, perfectly workable, but doesn't give that solid feeling of a powerful assisted thwack when opening. The overall experience of owning and using it is thus less that what it could have been.

Still, a great knife, especially in Elmax. Worth it.

Hi. I'm referring to the primary grind. But I wasn't referring to the the different types of grinds specifically. Rather about how the amount of metal ground from the blade varies and can affect the final shape -the profile when looking at the blade from the side, in other words.

As a more specific example, I have two samples of the same knife - the stainless steel handled model. This is the one with the frame lock that dropped several times here.

Both are the same model of knife, presumably from the same production run, but one blade was wider, had more material on the blade, and was more substantial looking and feeling. The other blade was slimmer, pointier, more stiletto-like, but gave the feeling of being more fragile.

Simply that the variation in how the blade was ground resulted in different looking and feeling blades. And there does seem to be a lot of variation across the Leeks that I own.

That's all I meant.

If this is at all able to be shown with pictures or measurements I wouldn't mind seeing.
