Getting kind of old to check Amazon and find the same price on a Massdrop item. What’s the point if I can get a black-wash (cooler) version for less than the black one here?

These are really great knives and the price is good too. Once you experience the ease and utility of the flipper/speedSafe mechanism, everything else second best. And CBSA be damned--you can club a baby seal to death in Canada but you can't cary around pocket knife?

Unfortunately for Canadian members, the CBSA (Canada Border Services) now considers all Speedsafe knives as illegal to import into Canada. They are not technically considered a switchblade but since the blade extension that extends above the handle (in the closed position) can be used to "flick" the blade open with the help of the torsion bar, they deemed it illegal. A thumb stud on the blade that assists in a "controlled opening" of the blade is still OK to import. We used to import a lot of Kershaw knives but have had to switch over to more Columbia River and Gerber to replace the Speedsafe versions.

RayLI read an article recently that they are seizing unassisted flippers as well. Held up on appeal. Kershaw skylines (flippers but no torsion bars or even bearings)were the knives in question. It read as though they are interpreting the law to mean no import of any knife that can be "flicked open" which includes pretty much any folder. Bad news for Canadian knife collectors.

I love my Leek, and really dig the purple one here, but would really like to see that purple available with the 'composite blade' with the d2 edge that I have on my current one.... And would like to see it in a frame lock, which of course won't happen with aluminum scales......composite leek, in titanium, with deep carry clip please? 😊 (just throwing that out there to the universe, but if MD wants to make it a thing for an exclusive run, I'd be interested)
That said, this one here really isn't any savings over buying elsewhere 😑
And that looks like one of the most difficult to sharpen serration profiles I've ever seen!

Black non-serrated Kershaw Leek would be an excellent option!! I have an non-serrated orange Leek in my backpack now. I'd like to get a few black non-serrated as Christmas gifts, however, that is not an option.
And to answer Vicente's question, I just bought the CRKT Eros, and the Leek is smaller and lighter, but basically the exact same knife. I like both equally.

I've heard the CRKT Eros is basically the same design, but implemented better. Is there more to it than that?
The Eros' sleeker look and the slight curve on the Eros blade (to spread the cutting force away from the tip) are the main things cited as improved on the Eros.

SlowCousinPeteI own both of them....I recently purchased the Eros after owning pretty much every variation of Leek they have. My opinion is that the Leek is a better knife if you get the Leek models that do not have liner locks. The black (standard/serrated) versions both have frame locks. Several of the colorful versions have scales and liner locks inside which really thickens them up. As far as action of the blade opening, the Leek is far and away more fun to own. The Eros is a tad bit smaller - and I think the blade is just perceptibly thinner. If you want slightly tougher, I'd get the Leek. If you plan to open letters in an office, perhaps the Eros would be preferable. Both are sharp, have about equal steel, but the Leek can be purchased with some pretty sweet variations of steel if you're willing to spend more $.

...This kinda defeats the purpose of MassDrop. Deals on MassDrop should be better than what you could achieve with a coupon code on Amazon. And the fact that there's only two models to select from is absurd.
