Massdrop is happy to introduce Kestrel Knives to our Ultralight Community. I brought this knife on a backpacking trip last weekend and friends were blown away by how light and nice it is. I've been following them on Instagram (@kestrelknives) to learn how their knives are made. Pretty cool stuff! http://www.kestrelknives.com
Check out this recent review in Backpacking Light of a steel Kestrel knife with similar dimensions to this drop: http://www.backpackinglight.com/cgi-bin/backpackinglight/flash-reviews-no-7-davis.html

For hipsters, knives are for looking cool and impressing your queer friends. This child's toy with a shoelace wrapped around the handle is sure to impress the girls. Use it to cut an apple in the cafeteria or dangle it from your keychain to keep everyone around you informed of just how cool you are. All for the "bargain" price of $90!

zoomorphHey, that may be your opinion, but I for one wouldn't mind this knife in my backpacking arsenal. This past June, I went 110 miles in the New Mexico mountains with a 1.5 oz Baladéo folding knife, but a fixed blade like this--both stronger and lighter than my knife--would have helped out a ton during the trek. After all, every ounce counts. Toy enough for you?

zoomorphTiny little Weights makes Large differences
Especially for UL backpackers
You don't need it, just go away Don't be an angry bird for everybody
At least, I think It's far better and useful than tiny little brass compass with No-degree indication

high1Every little weight only matters to weaklings. Some of you boys should hit the gym instead of the Massdrop comments section.

high1So you're a hipster kid who thinks it's cool to climb mountains with ropes... good job. Come back when you climb without ropes and live with a herd of mountain goats and don't rely on packaged food for your survival.

zoomorph@zoomorph - Please stop trolling these drops. Your numerous postings have not benefitted the discussion in any way, other than in proving two things: 1) you don't know much about ultralight or hunting 2) you have too much free time on your hand with nothing to do
I feel bad for you upon realizing these facts. At the same time, your trolling has made me appreciate that the Ultralight community here is generally positive. Thanks non-trolls!

Written by the chick who has spent more of her time in the Massdrop comments section than anyone else. So ironic, it almost hurts.

zoomorphDoes your toy compass and your $20 Kershaw gadget knife help with that?
