I think this an example of gear creep...taking a material that is in vogue and making a cutting implement that will be clearly inferior to other lower priced, better wearing metals (steels) on the market. Even with exceptional heat treatment, titanium has poor wear resistance, although it may be tough is some respects due to malleability, this small knife is not going to be subjected excessive shear or strain forces. D2, CPM 154, S30V, 440C, 01, S35VN, 1095 steels would all work well and would be cheaper without much difference in weight. My 0.02

painkillerGood point. Further, the first thing I think of when I read "Tungsten Carbide Impregnated" is "it will fail me when I need it most".

painkillerYou should probably note that this blade is grade 5 titanium which is by no means malleable or lacking in wear resistance; perhaps you are thinking of pure titanium.

Unixgal*claps* Now look up the hardness of steels generally used for making blades.

pixllI should also add that tungsten carbide is about 72 on the Rockwell scale. The combination of the Ti and Tungsten carbide will make the knife hold a usable edge for a very long time.

KestrelKnivesOh, I didn't intend to imply that this blade's choice of materials is lacking in any way. I'm sure that this knife will do pretty much anything one should reasonably expect from any knife this size. Just trying to prevent another outbreak of "*insert material here* is hard as diamond, tough as bull".

KestrelKnivesCan you provide Dyneema handle option for this knife later?

high1@high1 We'll definitely consider the dyneema handle option for a future drop. Thanks for the suggestion.
