sinegavKailh switches are indistinguishable from Cherry MX switches in everyday use, at least in my experience. (I have a Keycool Numeric Mechanical Keypad with Kailh Blues which I can't differentiate from the Cherry MX Blues on my CM Storm QFR.)
moukimokyuI strongly disagree on that, I can clearly tell the difference. Not only are the Cherry switches way more consistant, the tactile feel is also more present.
MiBeI disagree with you on that, so I guess it's a matter of opinion. Bottom line is if you want Cherry MX, you'll pay more for it (and you won't be finding it in recent Keycools at any rate).
whamBamYes, I think that is the point discussed, but for starters, this isn't being marketed to keyboarding enthusiasts. It is being marketed to quilting enthusiasts. Not saying those can't be one in the same (believe you me, I LOVE me some crafting), but the difference between Khalil and Cherry is negligible and would be unnoticeable to even most people intimately familiar with the differences - and before someone jumps all over me for that statement, I said most, not all. Though those that swear they can tell a substantial difference I would question.
I would encourage people to not discount a board just because it has clone switches. Take Gateron for example, those are clones but everyone loves them. Blue switches are awesome, and are super fun to type on, even those that are clones. And Keycool as a decent reputation to boot.
InanisValid points sir, I was just curious. I am just looking for the rainbow keys anyway for my CM Rapid-i keyboard. I havent used Khalil switches myself but that wouldnt stop me from buying a board. I would love to see Kahlil switches vs my Cherry MX Browns I have. Thanks for the rely though. I cant wait for the Keycool Rainbow keys to come back!
moukimokyuThen I really doubt if you have actual hand-on experience with either one of them. I have both right in front of me so can compare them one by one. I really find it hard to believe that you have compared them and were not able to notice the difference. Consistancy and a more present tactile feedback are not a matter of opinion actually.
I have to make one exception though; Cherry MX White. Those switches are even more inconsistant than any other switch I have tried before, both Cherry and Kailh. Some are clicky like Greens, some are just tactile like heavier Clears.
