Keysmart is to be commended for being a Tile OEM product, but unfortunately this is the older Tile tech, not the latest generation tag that is water resistant has longer range, requires no recharge and has a louder tone. They really should decrease the price on tbis to be commensurate with thr previous generation.

stevesurfWhat do you mean by it not requiring no recharge on the newer versions? Also, what kind of range increase are we talking about? I mean, Bluetooth range is pretty much Bluetooth range. I can't imagine they squeezed much more range out of a newer version.

This chart shows the differences between the Tile generations. Thr Keysmart is essentially the Mate series, where the separate Tile Pro tag is louder, water resistant and has a greater range. Better to get the standard Keysmart with a Tile Pro series.

stevesurfI mean, if it's similar to the Mate then it's also water resistant. The difference between IP68 and IP57 is negligible. I doubt you would be able to tell the difference in sound, as it's only 10 dB louder. And, "range" when it comes to Bluetooth depends on multiple factors like how many solid walls there are in-between, as well as the type of transmitter, i.e. your phone's Bluetooth strength.

YabosMcGeeThere is an extremely wide difference in technologies. I would rather spend an extra $10 on a tag to find a very expensive camera/lens, wallet or keys when they are well hidden, making the difference between a massive inconvenience or loss.
