Glad to see these on Massdrop. They compete well with others in the price range. Here's my take on them for anyone who is considering getting in on the current drop;

TheContraptionistSteered me far clear from these but thanks for the review! It was very informing and I learned the earphones were exactly the type of sound signature I abhor. I can't stand Vs anymore after being spoiled by the mids on the AKG K553s!
Also just a heads up on ChiFi earphones like this one: the jack termination there is super cheap and sold for DIY projects. I would expect more for the price like -- a slimmer, sturdy right angle jack.
AngraGlad I could help, though if you get the chance to hear them go for it. Still a good listen despite the lower mid issues I have with them. Also, I totally understand how you feel about the K553 ;)

In regards to the jack, yeah it is a common DIY piece but it's well put together and user serviceable. I'd much rather have this than a standard jack that can't be fixed or replaced. What Kinera went with is a huge plus imo.

TheContraptionistI see haha. I personally prefer sleek right angle jacks like the ones on these westone braided cables: https://www.amazon.com/Westone-EPIC-Inch-Replacement-Cable/dp/B00IG5SPXA/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1508352534&sr=1-1&keywords=westone+um+series+braided+cable
Since you can just cut a length of the wire and re-terminate to a DIY type jack at home if the cable goes bad. I'd rather get something I can't do myself if I'm going to pay more than $50 for them. But I can see the convenience in not having to buy a DIY jack if the cable shorts.
AngraThats a good looking cable. Reminds me of the ones NuForce uses on the HEM series.
