r47zI got my pair a few days ago and I'm really on the fence with these. On certain tracks they sound good but on many they are very harsh sounding to me. I don't believe what I am hearing would be considered sibilant but rather very sloppy sounding treble. And I own 2 sets of the KZ ZS6 which are very bright sounding earphones that can sound a little harsh at times. I normally prefer a treble heavy sound profile. These are significantly worse. I really don't get it. Should I expect to "burn them in" so to speak? Is it possible they are defective? I wanted so badly to like these but after about 8 hours of listening and trying to EQ some of the harshness out of them I just can't seem to get a balanced sound. I want to give them more time but again if it's possible they are bad then I should return them for exchange.

For whatever reason the sound has smoothed out for me. Not sure if it's the foam tips I put on them or the additional play time (break-in) but they have started to sound a lot better. I'm starting to think these are sensitive to varying Impedance levels by the various players. They sound lightly smoother on my iPod classic than the XDuoo X3 II. Maybe differences in DACs too. There's Hope yet for these.
CyberthingyYou need to give it time to break in about 100 hrs or so and it will balance out.. (not the mind breaking in cause I swamp different IEMS on a daily basis)
r47zyou were correct in that they needed time to break in. After further listening they sound so much better than when I first got them. The harshness has faded away. They are much more polite now. I’m still wrestling a little with proper seal sometimes but by and large they sound great.
