I had a strong love hate relationship with a prior version of this keyboard. I have large hands and I'm used to US keyboard layouts with a longer right shift key. On the Kinesis, I would occasionally not only get the right shift key, but also the up arrow key at the same time, then press the capitalized letter with my left hand, wiping out an entire line of text. PITA when debugging code that won't compile/run and wondering WTF happened to a line of code that I knew I added... Most comfortable ergo keyboard I've ever used, but totally destructive to my productivity. I'd be in for this keyboard in a heartbeat, but I notice it has the exact same key placement issue.
OmniscentlyAgreed! I just really miss the great ergo advantages of my old Kinesis as it was a joy to type on. I wish there was a way I could get Kinesis to make this same keyboard, but with a standard (for the USA) sized right shift key. Then it would be a perfect ergo keyboard for tall folks with big hands like myself.
FreakyFredJUST GET SMALLER HANDS!
No, but...you could try remapping or enabling shift to function with a co-trigger? Just an idea. Sorry its a weird size.
OmniscentlyHa! :^)
Yeah, I'd need some sort of crazy mapping that would automatically make Shift+UpKey presses a "NULL" (ignored) key press or something like that. Not sure if that can be done...
Just hoping Kinesis can utilize a standard size right shift key in a future product. Thanks again!
