JVY@JVY Capacity of current-generation m.2 SSDs is limited by the number of nand packages and the controller to drive them that you can put on a single sided 22mm x 80-110mm x 1.5mm max height board (most common m.2 is 2230-22110 -- see wikipedia's page on m.2 for more info). Generally speaking today that means maximum size for the form factor is either 480GB or 512GB depending on manufacturer.
