I read about issues with these readers drawing power and draining the battery when the car is turned off. Is that an issue with this model?

M_at_oHello, My name is Daniel and I work at PLX Devices and I would like to answer your question. There is no draining of the battery. Our KIWI 3 uses technology that makes the KIWI go to sleep when the device is turned off and awakes when the car is turned on. It uses very low power when the car is on so there will never be a dead battery from the KIWI device. I hope this answered your question.
