Skull Candy: A Decorative Titanium Frame Lock
Designed by Matt Cucchiara, the Kizer Mini Flashbang Skully is unconventional in more ways than one. To start, the blade features an aggressive recurve, which is good for cutting free-hanging material and slicing. Next, the decorative handle—made from titanium—dons the profile of a menacing skull, which is perhaps where the knife gets its name. Blue, yellow, and orange accents are a nice tie-in to the titanium pocket clip on the back, also multicolored. The blade is made from Bohler M390 stainless steel for good edge retention and wear resistance. To open it, press the jimped flipper tab; the blade locks in place thanks to the titanium frame lock.

About the Designer
Based in Fresno, California, Matt Cucchiara began making knives in 2003 after years of collecting. Always a fan of large tactical folders, Cucchiara is known for designs that combine thick, beefy construction with his own touch of style. A firm believer in function and dependability, he personally field-tests each of his designs and carries one every day.
